The Start-Up Unit is interested in understanding the molecular and biological features of hormone-related tumors toward the identification of better therapeutic anti-cancer strategies.

 

Our main research efforts are currently focused in dissecting the molecular, biochemical and biological complexity of breast cancer, particular in patients affected by certain metabolic disorders like obesity and diabetes.

 

Our ultimate mission is the establishment of tailored-cut therapeutic options for obese and diabetic breast cancer patients, which usually are affected by more aggressive forms of breast cancer compared to lean and euglycemic patients.
